Two day old photos!

So, we think from here on in this will be a blog with words painting our pictures. Sadly, our camera broke tonight. The good news is we have friends and other means for capturing our memories. The bad news we wont be able to share them with you visually until we arrive home.

We had a VERY long day yesterday. We departed from Guilin mid day for the airport. Most of the group was unprepared for the length of travel. We thought it was a quick 45 minute flight. No big deal. Sadly, with bus rides, and delays, it was a seven hour journey. Sutton road in a taxi, bus, boat, and plane in 24 hours. She's a world traveler! And yes. She did great. Both of the kids faired much better than Mommy and Daddy.

The good news if that we arrived. In more ways than one. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE (I'm sure with the exceptions of the Meg Ryan's of the world) ends up in Guangzhou and at The White Swan Hotel to finalize the adoption process. No matter where the child originated from, this is where we end. After a tough trip in rural China, entering the White Swan was a dream come true. The rooms are lovely, but the best part was this morning. We enter the famous 'breakfast hall'. Not only are the selections delicious, but just about everyone, which was easily 200+ people, were there with their adopted children. From all over, this happy group dined together. I think the parents were the true light bulbs. All of sudden, over my coffee, I had this astounding feeling. Maybe my faith in mankind was renewed. It was just a great moment. In such a short time, we've been apart of so much. Yet, this little moment really struck a cord.

Our day today was more of the same. We had to bring Sutton to a clinic with the rest of our group for the check up needed to allow here to leave with us. She passed with flying colors. This afternoon we did some pearl shopping and then onto a wild dinner (when the camera broke). It was a famous fish market. It seats over 2k people and you pick out the food you want, LIVE, and they cook it for you. I must say. Darn good.

Tomorrow we're off the a Buddhist temple for a blessing. We wont understand a word but I think it will be cool anyway!
